Since I currently have to work (Boo!) and am not able to travel until May, I thought I would amuse myself with some posts from some amazing past trips. My last trip to Europe was in June of 2007. I have a good friend who lives in North London, so that was my first stop. I would travel to her home, stay there for a week, then head off to Cyprus, where her family is originally from, and then to Amsterdam. While I was in London this trip, I went to a few places that I had never been to before and a few that I had. One afternoon I took the tube to Trafalgar Square and went to the National Gallery. What a magnificent place! This was one of my favorite photos from this whole trip.
Of course, there was the usual visit to the Thames, Big Ben and Houses of Parliament.
The London Eye and The Dali Museum
Westminster Abbey
Beautiful Little St. Margaret's Church
Another afternoon, I took the tube over to Highgate Cemetery. I had never been there before. What a cool place this is! I got lucky and was able to get on a tour of the West Cemetery (one spot left!), which can only be visited by a guided tour. It was incredible!
Into the catacombs...
After touring the West Cemetery, I went on my own tour of the East Cemetery, where I ran into Karl Marx's grave.
Loved the crooked headstones!
The resident black cat strolling around the West Cemetery. He/she was a nice addition to the ambience.
This was an emotional stop. Princess Diana's Memorial Fountain. It is a beautiful oval fountain in Hyde Park with differing widths and textures. A beautiful place to contemplate and remember the Princess of Wales.
After visiting Diana's Fountain and Playground, I walked all over beautiful Hyde Park.
Kensington Palace
Flora and Fauna around Hyde Park
Flowers in bloom outside of St. Paul's Cathedral
Vinnie - My friend, Chrissy's, beautiful new boy. He loved my heating pad!
Next stop...Cyprus.
